Aluminium

Our frames are constructed from high-quality commercial-grade aluminum, featuring structural support and fully welded, weight-bearing joints.

The durable matte finish powder coat provides a scratch, chip, and fade-resistant coating, ensuring long-lasting beauty.

Maintaining your aluminum furniture is straightforward. Regular general cleaning is all that’s required. For minor damage to the powder coat, you can touch it up with matching spray paint or use a sponge to apply touch-up paint from a bottle.

Limited 3-year warranty unless otherwise stated. Warranty to welds/ frames excludes damage caused by misuse or dragging of furniture.

 

Steel

Our alfresco furniture is designed for strength and longevity. Each piece is electrostatically coated to resist weather conditions effectively.

To ensure your furniture remains in top condition, some maintenance is required to prevent rusting. Apply WD-40 or a similar product to help protect against rust. Regularly inspect the coating for any damage that may expose the metal. If you find any, clean or sand the affected area thoroughly and treat it with rust-inhibiting touch-up paint.

For minor damage to the powder coat, you can use matching spray paint or a sponge with touch-up paint from a bottle.

Limited 1-year warranty unless otherwise stated. Warranty against rusting on products is 6-months. 

 

Resin (includes Polystone and Polywood furniture)

Our resin furniture is crafted from premium UV-resistant polypropylene resin.

Our polypropylene (PP) resin furniture is 100% recyclable, meaning it can be crushed and recycled without generating waste. The color is integrated into the resin mix before the molding process, ensuring it will not scratch off over time.

For polystone and polywood products, the top layer is painted, but the resin is a single color throughout. This ensures that any scratches or damage will be less noticeable, as the underlying color remains consistent.

For best results, clean regularly with a hose and use detergent as needed.

Timber

All our timber products are manufactured from renewable resources managed by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), ensuring sustainable sourcing.

Eucalyptus and Acacia Wood
Eucalyptus and Acacia are beautiful raw timbers with a light brown color. They require regular treatment, up to twice per year, as well as general cleaning suited to their usage and environment to maintain their appearance.

Limited 1-year warranty unless otherwise stated. Aftercare is a necessity for the longevity of raw timber products to maintain their natural beauty, strength, and resilience over time. Segals recommends and stocks Intergrain Ultraclear for frequent application (1-2 times/year).   

Teak Wood
Teak wood is a tropical hardwood known for its strength, durability, and natural resistance to outdoor elements such as rain, UV light, rapid temperature changes, and wood-eating insects. Even when left outdoors year-round without protection, teak garden furniture requires minimal maintenance to stay naturally beautiful and resilient.

Teak wood is classified as Class 1 timber (Australian Timber Industry Association) and offers long-lasting beauty and character. Maintenance needs may vary depending on environmental exposure, usage, and desired appearance, but generally include treatment up to twice per year and regular cleaning.

• New Teak Wood (B Grade Plantation Timber): Features a fine sanded finish for a smooth, supple texture. This raw, untreated wood requires maintenance to retain its showroom condition.
• Vintage Teak Wood (A/B Grade Recycled Timber): Has a wire-brushed finish for a warm, rustic look and feel. Treated with ‘stabiliser’ (Golden Care Protector) at the factory to even out natural color variations and protect the surface during packaging and storage. Requires treatment up to twice per year and regular cleaning suited to its usage.

Wicker

Our wicker furniture is made from high-quality hand-woven, extrusion-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This material is flexible, sun-resistant, tear-proof, colorfast, and eco-friendly.

HDPE wicker varies in quality based on the type and level of UV stabilizers used, as well as the finish’s texture, color, and consistency. In addition to being resistant to UV rays, HDPE wicker withstands chlorine, salt water, lotions, microorganisms, and stains from food, drink, and alcohol.

To maintain its appearance and prolong its lifespan, regularly clean your wicker with general cleaning methods and protect it from excessive exposure to harsh environmental conditions.

GRC

Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC), also known as Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement (GFRC), is a durable and versatile material designed to offer a combination of strength, toughness, and water resistance, making it ideal for outdoor furniture.

GRC has several advantages, including high strength, anti-aging properties, lightweight nature, and the ability to be molded into diverse shapes. It also features simple construction, fire resistance, weather resistance, and acid resistance. Unlike standard concrete, which combines aggregate with cement, GRC incorporates alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibers in its premixed cement. This makes GRC lighter and more resistant to cracking and weathering.

GRC tables come with a low-maintenance cured coating that provides a stylish and durable finish. To maintain its appearance, apply a stone sealer up to twice per year and perform regular general cleaning based on usage.

Limited 1-year warranty unless otherwise stated. Aftercare is a necessity for the longevity of GRC/Marble products to maintain their look, strength, and resilience over time. Segals recommends and stocks Sure Seal Spray N’ Seal products for frequent application (1-2 times/year).

 

Glass

l our glass tabletops are fully tempered, with a minimum thickness of 5mm, manufactured to withstand pressures exceeding 65 kPa, and are approximately five times stronger than standard glass.

To maintain their clarity and durability, simply perform regular general cleaning suited to their usage.

Limited 1-year warranty unless otherwise stated. Warranty excludes fading, scratching, water staining, damage caused by glass magnification or breakage caused by external factors. 

 

Umbrella 

Umbrellas are not wind-rated and are not designed for use in windy conditions. They are intended to be used for shade when open, and must not be left open or unattended for extended periods. To maintain the umbrella’s condition, it must be properly secured at all times using the recommended umbrella base or tiles. DO NOT bolt the umbrella to the ground or fix it permanently. The general movement of the umbrella may cause bolts to loosen over time. In such cases, re-tightening or reinsertion may be necessary. To prevent further loosening, we recommend applying LOCKTIGHT when re-tightening bolts.

Fabrics and Fillings

All our fabrics are designed for outdoor use, offering weather resistance and ease of cleaning. The yarns are non-porous, which helps resist staining and spills. For general cleaning, simply hose down the fabric and let it air dry. For more stubborn spills, use detergent, but avoid machine washing the covers to preserve the integrity of the cushion filling.

Solution Dyed Polyester (Spun Poly) fabrics are water-resistant, stain-resistant, and UV-resistant. They vary in weight but all offer high pilling resistance, making them suitable for heavy domestic use with minimal maintenance. The solution-dyeing process infuses color into the fibers rather than applying it on the surface, extending their lifespan even outdoors.

Olefin Fabrics are created from solution-dyed fibers, blending polypropylene and polyester to produce durable, dense materials. They are resistant to moisture, chemicals, and abrasion, offering quick drying, high colorfastness, and easy cleaning. Olefins are suitable for both heavy domestic and commercial applications.

Textmesh and Equivalent Fabrics feature polyester coated with UV-stabilized PVC (polyvinyl chloride). These are among the most durable outdoor fabrics available, known for their very high colorfastness and exceptional pilling resistance.

Dacron is a polyethylene fiber that is non-porous, resists moisture and stains, and does not mold or rot. It dries quickly, is strong, and helps wick moisture away from foam fillings in composite cushions, reducing mildew and deterioration.

Composite Cushion Filling consists of breathable sheet foam (EVA – ethylvinylacetate) wrapped in a thick layer of Dacron. This combination provides soft, resilient cushioning that resists degradation from moisture and chemicals.

Moulded Foams are high-density, resilient outdoor foams designed to maintain structure and integrity through heavy use. They offer breathable, mold-resistant cushioning with a firmer feel and enhanced crush resistance.

Weather Covers

To keep your outdoor furniture looking its best, use protective covers when not in use, even in covered areas. This helps keep the furniture clean and extends its lifespan.

Covers are essential for furniture exposed to weather conditions (except aluminum frames). Regularly remove and clean both the covers and the furniture. Segals offers a variety of covers designed for our range, available in stores and online.

Use placemats and coasters to prevent scratches and spills. Clean spills immediately to avoid damage and use only warm, mild soapy water for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals, which can harm the surface.

Promptly remove and clean any mould to prevent staining and damage.
